¿Esa de “Oops, I did it again” (ups, lo hice de nuevo)?
And I did it again… I disappeared from the blog for nearly 2 months, for the second time. I know, I’m turning into Britney.
I guess this blog thing is like exercise… it’s hard to do it everyday, but it’s so easy to get used to not doing it! Truth is, I was fully commited to coming back in early January, after Christmas break, but luckily January was filled with work (both decor related, and not), new adventures that are starting to become a reality, our 3 birthdays, and getting up early again to take our daughter to school… I just didn’t have the time nor the energy for it.
Focusing on everything I had made February come with more serenity and time for me (although my to do list is still never-ending, but whose isn’t?), and I knew I had to use the long weekend to sit in front of the computer and come back. And boy, it feels so good!
And now, I’d like to share with you a bit of these days I’ve been away. December and January were amazing. As I ran throught the hundreds of photos in my cellphone to pick my favorites for this post, I couldn’t help but smile as I remembered each and every single moment I cherish so deeply.
First things first. I don’t know if you noticed from my ig stories, but my daughter and I got the chance to visit L.A. for a some days. It was just the right amount of time to visit Disneyland and walk around Hollywood, but enought to bond while sharing this experience. Never, in her 16 years had we traveled by ourselves, and it was the greates thing ever. We want to do it more again!
In Disneyland we walked until we couldn’t bear our feet, getting on all the rides, but I also took my time to admire their gorgous gardens while making lines. I’ve always loved Disneyland’s landscaping, so perfect for each of their rides and lands. I loved this one, because it’s actually an edible garden. I thought it’s a perfect idea to make at home.
Here’s another one, with lettuces and small orange trees as bushes!
Qué belleza, ¿no? Eran como mosaicos de color…
Of course, it wasn’t only edible gardens, here above we have my favorite plants: succulents! Such a beauty, right?
Then, after 5 days, we came back home and I worked full mode to have everything ready for our family Christmas vacation. This gorgeous beach above is one of the many around La Paz, Baja California Sur. White sand, clear turquoise waters. Words are really not enough to express how much I loved it all: the landscapes, the desert, the plants, the sky, the villages, and of course, our family. I shared this trip in ig a lot.
Take a look at this beauty! I wanted to take it all with me, the old, white door, the blue washed floor, the old bricks, the window, the rusted sign… even the wild plant peeking through the rocks and the bulb-less socket above the door.
Another beauty. This was everyone’s favorite on ig, with the blooming bouganvillea growing around the door.
And now a personal favorite of mine, my dear daughter next to one of the biggest cactus we’ve come across. I really enjoyed all the cactii and succulents in La Paz and its surroundings. All the trendy plants you see on ig and pinterest where right there, naturally.
Back in Guadalajara, I’ve been busy visiting lots of places, and this was one of my most favorite, with one of the hugest (it’s a word, I checked 😉 ) trees ever. Of course, it didn’t fit in the photo, and you can see how tiny my daughter looks.
Last but not least, I want to share with you one of the things I’ve been doing that has been keeping me busy, not for the last two months, but more like for the last year or so: I’ve been in the pursuit of a more balanced, healthy, and happy life. It started with exercise, something I’m not naturally driven to make, but also something I’m loving and enjoying more and more. Then of course, there the food, which need me to make changes in our habits and be better organized (my challenge for this year), and last, something that is a big deal for me: reducing the impact we have on the environment as a family. All of these things require me to organize better in order to get everything I want done, and to have more balance. It’s a whole new subject (or many, actually), something I could write about a lot. So, I’m trying to figure out how to do so here in the blog. Would you like that? Of course the main focus is and will be interior design and DIY, but suddenly I’m feeling like I want to share different sides from me with you, like I want to open with you more. I guess we’ll figure that out as we go, but in the meantime I appreciate all your comments and feedback 😉
¡Nos leemos el jueves!!!!
And with this amazing sunset from last Sunday I say goodbye for now, wishing you the best in this new week. It feels so good to be back 🙂
See you on Thursday!
