¡Hola!
Hi there! Today is a very special day: it’s time for a new reveal post, yay!!!!! I’ve been meaning to share this project with you guys for some weeks now, but I hadn’t managed to have it ready until today. This was a small, unfinished powder room which was turned into a full, stylish, rustic industrial bathroom. And eventhough it is quite small, I’ve got plenty of photos for you (including, of course, some “before and afters”), so let’s get started, shall we?
Antes / Before
Let me tell you a bit about this space: This was intended to be a powder room, but in the meantime, it was being used as a little warehouse of sorts. The room itself was finished, the plumbing installation was ready, but there was nothing, not even the toilet. Speaking with the clients, we thought the best thing would be to turn this space into a bathroom, since the house had only one (the one in the master bedroom), and they needed one for guests. However the size, roughly 33.7 sq ft, was quite a challenge. For a powder room there was enough space, but we knew it meant a tiny bathroom. After analyzing the options, we agreed this bathroom would be like European ones: tiny, but complete. And I was determined to make it spectacular, the kind that surprises you the moment you open the door…
Después / After
What a change, right? It feels like a completely different space. To give visual depth, I used the same tile for the floor and back wall, and divided the shower area with a glass, that way your eyes don’t stop, and follow all the way through. I looked for the tiniest, most functional toilet, for each inch made a huge difference. Last, I designed a custom piece with wood and black steel, that you can better appreciate on the next photos.

If you follow me on Instagram you’ll know I’m a huge concrete tile fan. Perhaps you even recognize it from this photo. I love them, even in modern or contemporary spaces, so they were a must in this Mexican rustic home. I didn’t want to oversaturate the space, so I decided to keep it simple on the other walls. I chose a design which reminded me of Moroccan trellis, and chose them white (although concrete tiles don’t give a pure white tone, but rather a light grey, which I also love). Again, the vanity was custom made, and I decided it was perfect for a custom sink, made from black mate ceramic. I love it. Last, I chose a geometric wire pendant, which adds a modern touch, and allows light to shine through (it even makes a nice pattern on the ceiling).

Over the vanity, a steel frame mirror and an industrial sconce, and then, 3 wooden hooks with a black and white towel I loved.
I feel so happy seeing this finished, after the long days and nights. Small as it may seem, it’s filled with details that had to be taken care of. Anyhoo, it’s all worthwhile after seeing the design come to life, especially when the space works and makes the clients happy! Now they have a beautiful bathroom for their guests!
