Hi, good morning! As promised last Monday, I took so many photos on my visit to Ex Hacienda de Chiconcuac, that it was unthinkable to limit myself to a single post. Hence, here’s the second part of our tour: the gardens and other outdoor areas.
I’ve been doing some thinking, as to which was my favorite, the buildings or the outdoors, and I’m having a hard time. Everything is so spectacular. Like I said on my last post, we were very lucky to have an amazing light during our visit (it was around 8am), and it came through beautifully on the shots. What’s best, picture yourselves standing in the middle of so much beauty, and then add thousands of birds singing, and the clear water running through the gardens. A full experience for all senses, indeed! So, without further ado, I say we let the photos do the speaking for themselves, shall we?
This amazing space is the old stables. I LOVE how plants are taking over the whole space.
El agua que corre…
The water running free…
The light, shining through the trees <3
No exagero.
Here I am with one of the most incredible and inspiring trees I have ever seen (it kinda reminded me of this one here). I stood there on the photo so its size could be somewhat apreciated, but looking at the picture I realize I didn’t achieve this at all. This tree is HUGE, it was impossible to fit it in a single photo. If I had wanted to do so, I would have needed to have a photo above, and two or three on EACH side of this one, at least. I am not exagerating at all. I had never seen branches this long. And they went in all directions, it was as if they were reaching for the stars. The feeling of being in front of this tree was so humbling.
Notice the first branch, running horizontally. It crossed a huge part of the garden.
The tour ends when you walk through a door and you are suddenly in the middle of the church square, so festive, facing the main square.

And now, the final question: which do you like most, the outdoors or the indoors? Personally, my favorite photos are those were there’s a bit of both worlds… the old walls and architecture in the middle of the evergrowing vegetation, taking over them. 😀
Hope you liked the tour, and above all, found it as inspiring as I did!
