A few days ago, while checking my past Halloween / Day of the Dead posts and DIYs projects, I realized I haven’t shared with you one of my most favorite wreaths I’ve made. This DIY is soooooooo very simple, but I love it because it turned out amazing, and the best of all is I made it reusing the Halloween wreath from the year before, so that means extra points for being a green project, right?
Like I said, the starting point was the wreath I made the year before. I loved it so much with its black leaves and gold spikes, I would have put it up once again that year, but after being away all those months, the natural leaves broke and it got a little ugly (I didn’t keep it inside a box, so that nothing would happen). But hey, every problem represents an opportunity, right? 🙂
By the way, click here if you want to learn how I made that wreath.
So basically I decided to embrace the ugliness, isn’t that what Halloween’s all about? Now it was beautifully spooky! All I did was glue some critters I bought on the broken leaves.
I even used blue tape to put others on the floor, cockroaches and spiders coming out from the wreath!
The final touch was a sign I bought at the dollar store.
Ain’t it pretty? By the way, this wasn’t our first time reusing the wreath, but actually the second! Before being our Halloween wreath the year before, it was also our Christmas wreath.
Do you like reusing your craft supplies too? Have you begun decorating for the season? Do share your creations and homes with me, using #mycasahaus on the social media 😉 Happy day!
