Our living room has a brand new pillow. Gray, with a very lovely pattern (totally me) and to top it off, my blog’s name, hashtagged and all, in a deep burgundy, one of my favorite colors ever. I’d love to brag about it saying I made it, and even share a tutorial but I’m afraid it won’t be possible this time! You see, this gorgeous pillow wasn’t made by me, but by Bel Garibal from Kik and Bake, and it’s just one of the many gifts she gave me for the gift swap we made at Circulo de Bloggers Mexico in June.
From Belgian chocolate, to baking molds, it felt like Christmas in June! There was a little bit of everything, and everything was so pretty (or yummy!).
The candies and chocolate were the first to go. Lucky for me, I was able to save the last one for our photo shoot!
¡me encanta!
Yet, my favorite thing was the pillow, by far!!!! It’s happy, it’s pretty, it’s handmade, it’s completely me. It was thoughtful and I loved it. And of course, I couldn’t miss the chance to play around with my accessories and take a few photos to our living room.
One of the things I enjoy the most about blogging is having great friends all over the world. I think being able to find people who share your interests through internet is amazing. But even more amazing is when you get the chance to “materialize” that friendship somehow, to take it from the virtual world to reality. Sometime you are lucky to live in the same place and then meeting each other is easy, but most of the times, distance is a major issue, so the gift swap was a great way of traspassing frontiers and getting closer.
Lucky for me, Bel lives in Guadalajara too, so I received my gifts early. We decided to wait and write our posts when everybody had received theirs, so we had to wait a couple of months. As for the gifts I prepared, here’s a clue: Remember the wooden spoons I painted a little while ago? Well, they travelled accross the country along with many more presents to reach a very talented lady who enjoys spending time in her kitchen: Ileana Gil from the blog Cilantro y Pérez Gil. So if you want to see all the cute things I sent her, go and visit her! I’m dying to see what she thought about it all!
Happy Monday!
