Un cuarto de niña neutro con toques de color

Hace mucho que no comparto una transformación, y el día de hoy tengo una que es perfecta ya que es sumamente inspiradora. Primero, porque se trata de un espacio pequeño, muy similar a lo que nosotros mortales solemos tener en casa. Segundo, porque se hizo con cambios sencillos y soluciones creativas de bajo costo (o sea, lo que todos queremos, ¿verdad?). Tercero, el resultado es increíble. En fin, espero que con este hermoso cuarto de niña veas que transformar tu casa es posible, un espacio a la vez, sólo necesitas perder el miedo y animarte 😉

It’s been quite a while since my last before and after post, and today I have the perfect, most inspiring one for you. First, because this is a rather small room, very similiar to what most of us have in our own homes (at least I do). Second, because it’s all about simple changes and creative, low-cost solutions (and we all love that, don’t we?). Third, the room turned out lovely. So, I hope this gorgeous little girl’s room inspires all of you to transform your home, one space at a time. All you need to do is loose the fear and begin. 😉

Así que empezamos con el aburrido “Antes”. Un cuarto muy ordinario y beige.

So let’s begin with our “Before”. A very ordinary and beige room.

Y ahora las fotos del “Después”. Adoro el poder del blanco (y no es comercial de detergente :).

And now, the “after” photos. I love the power of white (and it’s no detergent ad 🙂

Me encanta el resultado: un dormitorio alegre, femenino sin ser exagerado, con toques juguetones pero sin llegar a ser infantil, lo cual es excelente porque el cuarto se adapta fácilmente conforme crezca la niña. Me encanta cómo el fondo neutro es perfecto para agregar el color a través de las muebles y accesorios. El techo pintado de gris es hermoso y sorprendentemente no hace sentir el espacio más reducido, por el contrario. Sin embargo, mi solución favorita es el muro de enfrente de la cama. A simple vista pareciera que es un papel tapiz, pero no. Se hizo proyectando una fotografía de una tela, y haciendo los dibujos con plumón permanente. Facilito. Aunque si me preguntas a mí, yo hubiera preferido trazarlos con lápiz y luego pintar con pincel delgado y una pintura menos fuerte. En mi experiencia se necesitan muchísimas capas de pintura para cubrir los plumones permanentes. Pero bueno, ¿quién querría cubrir esa pared tan bonita?

¿A ti qué es lo que más te gusta?

I love the outcome: a fresh and joyful bedroom, femenine but not over the top, with playful details without being childish, which is great because it grows as the kid does. I love the neutral backdrop which is perfect to add color through furniture and accesories. The gray ceiling is amazing, and surprisingly, it doesn’t make it feel smaller, but larger. However, my favorite solution is the wall opposite the bed. It would seem like a pretty wallpaper, but isn’t. It was made projecting a fabric image, and tracing it with sharpies. Easy as a pie. Although, if you ask me, I would have rather taken the long way, tracing with pencil, and then painting with a fine brush and a not so strong paint. In my experience, it takes many coats of paint to cover sharpies. But then again, who would want to paint on top of that pretty wall?
